Another smart piece from the packed portfolio of Greg Durrell. This work brings back the powerful “WAR IS OVER” ad spread (based on the song of the same title) that John Lennon and Yoko Ono created in 1971 to protest American involvement in hostilities around the globe. It is a little shallow to talk about this work as “good design” when the words add up to something so much more important than typography or paper choices but given today’s ongoing conflict, this creative rebirth of such a reasonable message is still relevant and sadly provocative.

The women of Afghanistan would disagree with a world view so simplistic.
