A few years out from an Olympic Games, the organizing committee holds “test events” (usually in the form of a world cup’s) which allow them to rehearse things such as transportation, guest services, results/scoring, etc. These events also allow the design teams to test printing, installation, etc, but since they are not Olympic specific events, they require an entirely different “look” from what will be unveiled at Games time. These are the “test event” posters from Montréal 1976, assumably designed by the Montreal design team. -Greg Durrell
