From The Motor Magazine, June 1913. Tate Electric followed the arc traced by many early electric companies worldwide. Seeing that the electric was flourishing in industry and only modestly successful for personal use, it sold a wide range of industrial, commercial, and passenger vehicles – which was still not enough to save the electric car from the invention of the starter motor.
