This printed work presents the winter season with a Victorian charm and a nostalgic emotional quality rarely seen in the price hunting, trend obsessed world of the shopper. As with most of Bantjes work, this series is outstanding and is truly beautiful, such a high goal and one that Bantje’s seems to always arrive at, giving us the impression that design is an effortless adventure for her. I have seen some of this work on EBay recently, giving even more cred to the idea of bringing in designers to help create a landscape of brand savvy products for consumers to relate to and trust (these would be items that would have normally been discarded but given the illustrations and printing quality, have earned a second life as a collectible).
