I have seen these urban messages embedded in every sidewalk in Canada. Typically the function is to advertise the company that made the cement and the installation date, but there are also a lot of them that have other significance, like a special one designed for Expo 67 and other events in the country. I found it interesting that the urban space was being decorated with these long lasting images and that they were constantly being updated, added to and destroyed.
