The original OLG logo was a bit of a classic… too bad about this.

Hi Dave,
Are you sure G&A did this version?
I know that they did the original back in the 80s – <http://designarchives.aiga.org/entry.cfm/eid_5964>
Which evolved into this – <http://www.freddiep.ca/images/lottery1.gif>
before becoming the logo shown here.
Any chance you can point us to a reference?

If this is the most recent iteration, I think it was done by Interbrand Toronto. They’ve been running OLG’s creative for a while.

Thanks Dave!
Looks like G + A are responsible for the original and this redesign.
I think this statement from the brochure sums up what went wrong:
“Extensively researched among consumers as well as other
key stakeholder groups, the evolved visual identity combines
visual elements of fun and excitement while maintaining
visual continuity with its roots.”
visual ‘fun + excitement’ + consumer testing = uggh!

Your “Table of prizes” for Lotto 649 is wrong in the 4/6 line where it says the winnings for 4/6 is 9.5% of the pools fund. I wish, as I have 4 numbers for Oct. 12 2013
