In 1960, Walter Nugent submitted a US patent application for his unique “sitting furniture” design – basically, a flexible sprung-steel seat pan fixed to a rigid frame. By varying the configuration of seats and support structures, Nugent created a wide range of seating solutions, from Danish style lounge chairs like the C-15, to airport seating. The chair shown here was developed for hospital use and utilizes a high-back seat to provide support during the rocking motion.
