A series of works on “common objects”, this performance transforms common vases in a collection of unique, custom-made pieces. Based on the technique of the monogram engraving, participants are asked for their name and surname. Their initials will refer to specific “alphabet cutters” which will serve to carve a vase. The cutters combination define a new form for each vase. Each participant owns a unique vase. Unicity is used here as a counter point to mass production, to create a link between the idea, the making and the people present at the event. This project was designed and planned for the festival and 100 vases made out of wax have been produced.
