One of the most amateurish and dorky images I have ever seen of this Canadian icon, and sadly this cover design actually made it to print (Who was the art director?). With the Order of Canada outlined and crafted into a halo/crown, married to the painting technique of Bob Ross, this whole illustration feels canned and outside the real emotional quality that Fox generated. He was not an idol or religion, rather he was a regular guy that summed up staggering strength and courage to face issues head on and to spread his inner power to the nation and quietly beyond. The inside story saves Maclean’s from complete embarrassment but this is a serious low point for graphic design of Canada. Maple leaf as apostrophe, nice touch!
