[!](http://canadiandesignresource.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/_ubc_fuel_efficient_vehicle_2.jpg) Canada has such encouraging trends in its automotive sector. Most of the world’s most innovative new thinking exists here, and this eco-car reinforces this point. This futuristic vehicle won top prize at The Society of Automotive Engineers Supermileage competition, marking the team’s fourth win in as many years (Université Laval, PQ took second place this year). This car is obviously special, is so efficient that it could travel from Quebec City, PQ to Victoria, BC on a single gallon of gasoline; it incorporates cutting edge aerodynamics, lightweight and stiff construction and uses a highly efficient 54cc engine. With the success of the Zenn car, Ballard Power and Magna, the Canadian automotive industry seems at the front end of major market disruption.
