This work features the iconic green/blue glaze that the company pioneered, and is one of the many famous (or infamous, depending on who you talk to) animal and aquatic interpretations produced by this Canadian manufacturer over its many years of operation. One of the more collectible designs today, given the fragility and tendency to chip or have the fins knocked off, and pieces of this quality are being snapped up on the vintage market.

Personally I find this piece pretty ugly, but with your write-up I can definitely appreciate its precious nature and in fact, the lines quite successfully illustrate a sense of movement.
Glad to see Twice Found here! I just discovered the shop and it is amazing! Vintage finds from all over, but definitely loads of Canadian ceramics, and amazing jewellery, too.
