In an era when hockey helmets were nothing more than thin padded plastic shells, the SK 2000 was a massive improvement. Cooper invested in a three year design journey to up the ante in hockey protection with this design as the end result. Advancements included an even thickness in the shell (better mold) which made the helmet stronger, a shock deflecting shape to reduce impact, fully adjustable (width, height and strap), and a wide colour palette that players could customize each part of their lids. This helmet was state of the art at the time. PS – This helmet was made famous outside of hockey circles when featured in the original Tron movie.
