These were the best skates ever designed…with revolutionary plastic blade holders (replaceable, lighter, and more stable), and tool hard blade that held its sharpness longer, a leather construction that molded to your foot and a high cut ankle that increased the speed and accuracy of the player. This design lasted on the market unchanged for over a decade, sold the most, and was the most popular skate in the NHL.

I agree loved this skate , the cut between the 3rd and forth lace hole made forward skating and take offs better for smaller, lower style skaters , with less stress on the knees .They after breaking them in fit to my foot fantastic to a point that I never needed them to be very tight . Newer skates of which I have tried from top of the line to middle never gave me the support and comfort ,term like a glove ,to stiff and would not mold to the bottom and sides of my foot ,always gave me foot cramps and hurt . My problem is that they stopped making this style and they are no where to be found . The ones with the white plastic extra piece in this spot are the only ones that can be found .After years of use and lots of games , 6 blade replacements mine broke down at the ankle area . I still use my old tacks for pleasure skating ,of which strong ankle support is not needed only comfort , as my hockey days are past me now . Well that,s my take on old Tacks , hope if anyone reads this enjoys . Thx Doug
