We have had the pleasure of seeing a number of Beaver inspired vases this year. The best coming from Palette industries, Paige Russell (see previous Bad Beaver Vase post) and another beautiful concept from Caroline Arsenault. The fact that such similar work can come out at the same time proves that good ideas seem to bubble up from the times they live in. I find the material side of these pieces fascinating, a gnawed beaver pattern that only Canadians will recognize and understand. I would love to see more work that pushes this idea further…I wonder what other Canadian pattern palettes exist and how designers can apply them?
