Thanks Deborah!

Amazing illustration, would this have been hand done on every plate? When you see all the work that goes into this, I am ashamed that all I do is slip casting. This is really outstanding.

This is so pretty…I am not sure how it was made, but I think that it might be pad stamped with some hand detailing. The content is great, but why on a plate (is it just the flat surface, souvenir item, etc) or am I missing the distribution of Canadian history via dishes thing? BTW: Slip casting rules!

It was for the Centennial. That sort of thing is often celebrated on plates. Royalty and royal weddings too.

On the back of the plate it indicates “Canadian Centennial Series 1867-1967”. I’m thinking there may be a few more out there. I have one other of Old Quebec Early 18th Century but the detail is not as good.
