Before Can-Am, Bombardier touched its toe into the bike market by rebadging European manufacturers as Bombardier products. Existing now only in small numbers, Italian made Garelli minibikes and two small motorcycles a 50cc and 70cc bikes were released in the early 70’s. Gary Scott, one of the original Can-Am development engineers, recently told me that a considerable number were originally sold in Hawaii as tourist rentals! Via.

My brother bought one of these from a local Ski-Doo dealer in Northern Michigan in the early 70’s. Bike was yellow with a bit different decoration scheme. There were Bombardier stickers on the engine and we peeled them off to find the Garelli stickers underneath. We beat the hell out of that thing. Was our first bike. Shifter is on the right, so when we started buying Japanese dirt bikes we had to learn all over again to shift with the left foot.
