The mural “A Sense of Place” by Frank Perna 1997 was painted outside the Kennedy Subway Station in Toronto as a result of a community safety audit. The purpose was to create a space that would increase the comfort level of pedestrians and commuters. Frank Perna’s mural explores the concept of a sense of place for community in the natural world accessed through technology and the racial diversity found in Toronto through six main surfaces. The mural is still in excellent condition in 2017.
